another busy week
been crazy busy again this week, and on top of that I’m trying to fit in some time playing GRAW2 that my brother brought back, and work on my housing problem…. Still off to London tomorrow afternoon for a good night out has cheered me up, just got to get a few things out the way today and tomorrow am.
england v. kenya
so I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing day watching England play Kenya, in what will hopefully see us progress to the Super 8. I will however be keeping a sneaky eye on Australia v. South Africa which is likely to be excellent match.
No-one will remember who lifts this World Cup. It will be the tournament at...
– Very sad, but probably true statement, in light of the news that Bob Woolmer was murdered.

and the second wasn't much better
Englands second game versus Canada was almost overshadowed by the events preceding it…. Firstly was the sad death of Bob Woolmer, pakistan coach, which was a complete and unexpected shock, and then there were the antics of a few England players. 6 England players went out late to a nightclub and were photographed, the England vice-captain Freddie Flintoff arriving back at the hotel around...
all too familiar
so Englands first game in the Cricket World Cup didn’t exactly go as we would of hoped… Anyone who has regularly watched England will not be surprised by a small batting collapse at precisely the wrong moment, and in the end an extremely good last stand was the only thing that got us over 200. The bowling attack started ok, but was a little too expensive, and in the end New Zealand...
where do you store your cash?
personally, having children, I never have enough cash lying around long enough to make it worth storing, but even if I did I’m not sure I’d choose an Iceberg Lettuce!! » The Diversion Safe

House left as an island
Stumble’d upon this amazing story of developers that turned a house into an island when the owner refused to move out. “The villa now stands alone in a 30ft deep man-made pit in Chongqing city, reports Jinbao Daily.” » Full Story

watching the 2007 Cricket World Cup which officially opened last night, first match is tomorrow. While I agree that on current form it would be a good achievement for us to make the semi finals, I think we are capable of doing it if we hold onto some of that inner belief strongly enough. » Match Fixtures

England 26 - France 18
What a fantastic win, and the best performance so far. We were playing with freedom and running style that was largely unseen until now, and doing it with a team that had 8 changes in it. We looked threatening when attacking and organised and committed in defense. France rarely got into gear thanks largely to the excellent forwards work in controlling the ball. At the same time we were by no...
finally got one
so I just bought this phone on ebay that I’d been idly looking for - the Motorola A630. I first saw it on a trip to San Francisco a few years ago and really liked the look of it. Returning to the UK I looked around for it but never found a carrier offering it. A few models have turned up on ebay so I guess there must have been some availability in the UK. Being a huge Windows Mobile user...
le weekend
I’m looking forward to another weekend of the 6 Nations Rugby culminating in Sundays match of England v. France at 15.00. Despite losing to Ireland a fortnight ago I still feel we’re on making progress to getting back to winning ways. I’d love to see us sneak a win against France…
not such a great Friday
I usually like Fridays, they are my unofficial day off that I spend with my son and only respond to absolutely urgent work issues. Today however was not as relaxing as I would have liked, had to baby sit the plumber who came to fix the hot water tank leak and being camped inside the house for pretty much the entire day makes it difficult to keep a kid entertained/happy/smiling. anyway, we...
productivity (for once)
excellent morning this morning, got a lot of work done, focused myself and managed to not get distracted too much. lots of things ticked off my todo list, possibly even more than got added on, which is a nice change. now to go subscribe to 43 folders podcast…

Company Man
Watched episode 17 of heroes last night, such a great show. Got the next one ready to watch aswell. Read that Season 2 ‘might’ feature entirely new heroes with an entirely new plot, which is an interesting idea and will keep things fresh, but I hope they retain certain characters and not do a complete clean sweep. gentlemen, start your engines...
with the help of the previous owner, we finally got the engines on the boat running this evening. turns out one of the fuel valves was set to closed. it’s more complicated than it looks! lots of smoke as they haven’t been fired up since it moved to its new home last november, but they were soon idling happily.
work, work, work
absolutely manic day today. while I never complain about having too much work, when lots of it arrives on the same day it can mean you just run around wondering how to fit it all in….
FINALLY...
…ABC gets round to making the final Day Break episode (13) available. I really got into this and was very upset when they pulled it halfway through. I haven’t watched it yet, but will get round to it later today during my period of quiet reflection…. Day Break at ABC

leaky tank = tired
so the hot water tank started leaking yesterday. it’s the weekend so calling a plumber would mean serious ££££ so I decided to try and limp through the weekend and then call someone monday morning. the leak is right under the tank, and there isn’t much space there, so I can only find a certain number of containers to put under it to catch drips. it’s all about maths now (which I...
